This last week we launched two internally focused sites, Facilities Planning & Management (opens new window) and the Fiscal Operations sites.

The site was a complete rework from the original which had not changed in 5+ years. We went back to the drawing board and refocused on the goals of the site. There were three main reasons people visited their site, it is the only place to:

1. Submit a workorder
2. Check on a workorder
3. Check on construction updates

So we decided to focus in on those items on their homepage.

The site needed to fit into the larger Finance and Facilities Management (opens new window) look and feel. We accomplished this by keeping the same overall structure but making sure the imagery was unique.

Content on the site was completely rewritten. It now emphasizes each area and the staff that will be helping with those requests. They highlighted each staff member with a photo and their direct contact information. It is very important for them to be accessible. When things are going on with physical buildings it is important to know who is responsible.

Lastly we added the address, phone numbers and a map to the homepage.
