Following with the theme of the Undergraduate Admissions (opens new window) and Orientation (opens new window) Websites, the iStart site has the same overall feel.

The spirit of iStart is getting connected and that is how we approached the new information architecture and design.

The iStart site is not large, it contains a total of eight pages so the problem with the old site was not content but focus. The old site focused on the menu items and not the experience. We wanted the new site to embody the experience students would get at iStart.

Things we added to the homepage:

• A run down of upcoming orientation events
• Promotions for registration
• Flickr feed of photos
• Points of interest including our virtual tour and application status
• Student blogger promotions
• Social media icons to stay connected

Overall the design has a more welcoming feel which is an incentive for a student to sign up and get involved.
